RAMONA PORTELLI from okmalta.com interviewed Australian model – JACINTA ROKICH.  Currently living in Sliema, Malta, Jacinta is originally from Perth Western Australia.

She is a qualified beauty therapist, and works as a model.  She enjoys travelling, art and photography.  Jacinta models in plenty of places all over the world, including Malta.

Describe yourself in your own words
Spontaneous, adventurous, fun, relaxed and lazy!

What is your greatest dream?
To be a professional and successful model!

How do you relax and get away from it all?
I love to get away from it all by going to a remote beach and chilling out.

What is your beauty routine?
From working as a beauty therapist I have learnt how to look after my skin, so my beauty routine consists of weekly facials and body masks.  And a healthy diet!

What’s your sense of style and what do you wear on a daily basis?
I am fairly casual on a daily basis, but enjoy dressing up for special occasions.

What does your most ideal day consist of?
Travelling with close friends and exploring new places together.

You’re a model in several places all over the world, including Malta.  Tell me which is your Maltese agency and the person representing you here in Malta?
I have modelled mostly in Australia, America and Malta featuring in international magazines.  My agent is Carina from models.com.mt and she has given me great opportunities in Malta and abroad.

You have modelled abroad for several magazines.  What are your comments and feedback you get?
I get positive comments, as the photographers I have worked with produce very professional images.

Which was your best preferred photo shoot so far?
Last year I did a photo shoot in Las Vegas which was an old country western style theme.  The photos look very authentic and the locations I got to go to were awesome!

Have you always wanted to model?
I have always wanted to model, but never thought I was confident enough or able to do well!  I pushed myself into it at the age of 18 and haven't looked back since!

What’s your connection to Malta?
My connection to Malta is through my boyfriend, whom I met while travelling through Europe. His name is Mark and he works as an architect.  I decided to try out a Maltese lifestyle.

What are your comments about my country island – Malta?
I find Malta very unique - especially coming from such a large country to such a small one.  The culture is so rich and vibrant for a small country!

How did you become a model?
I started by entering modelling competitions and doing amateur photo shoots and have been very lucky in getting some great opportunities since.

Was modelling what you thought it would be?
It's quite difficult and good opportunities are hard to come by.

What was your life like growing up?
I grew up in Perth Western Australia, which is like a big country town on the coast.  I was always adventurous going on long road trips up the coast and camping and always going on boat trips out to sea.  It was a great place to grow up and will always be home.

In your opinion, what is the biggest misconception about modelling?
I think the biggest misconception is that there is no training for modelling and that you need to work hard to find jobs, they rarely come to you and the work is unpredictable.

Have you ever kissed someone of your same sex?
I have kissed girlfriends on the lips, but nothing too friendly!

What are your views and comments about alcohol & drugs?
My views are everything is okay in moderation!  I believe it's a personal choice and as long as people are in control and aren't being controlled.

What is your opinion about same-sex marriages?
I think anyone should be able to marry whoever they fall in love with regardless of what sex they are.

What are your hopes, dreams and fears for the future?
My hopes for the future are to travel and see more of the world.  I fear that time is going too fast!  My dreams are to be happy and always surrounded by loved ones.
